Jerome Christensen – Disney Derives the Future: Cognitive Capitalism and Brand Realism

The Department of English, the Cinema Studies Institute, the Centre for the Study of the United States, and the Centre for Law Innovation and Policy present a lecture by Jerome Christensen, University of California, Irvine.

Jerome Christensen teaches film studies and Romantic-period literature at U. C. Irvine. He is the author of four books on eighteenth and nineteenth century authors, including David Hume, Lord Byron, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge. His most recent book,  America’s Corporate Art: The Studio Authorship of Hollywood Motion Pictures, was published by Stanford University Press in 2012. He is currently at work on a study of postmillennial Hollywood, and the financialization of American culture.
