The Gamification of Work

Lecture by Miriam Cherry, Professor of Law, Saint Louis University Law School

Professor Cherry is currently engaged in studying how technology and globalization is changing the ways in which we think about, perform, discuss, and regulate work. One of the more exciting and yet dangerous possibilities for the future of work is a trend known as “gamification.” While using computers to turn work into a game can present a tremendous opportunity for making work more enjoyable and interesting, it can also have a dark side – turning work into a cut-throat and ultra-competitive endeavor. A short paper on this phenomenon may be found here.

Open to Faculty of Law students, faculty, and staff.  Registration is required.  A light lunch will be served.
